Lord’s Test Umpire Controversy: Another controversy has emerged in the five -match Test series between India and England. This time the case is of ball replacement. According to reports, during the third Test played at Lord’s, the Indian team was given a 30-35 over old ball instead of a ball which deteriorated in just 10 overs, which is angry with Team India.

Let us know that the third Test match was played from July 10 to July 14 at Lord’s Cricket Ground between India and England. England managed to win by 22 runs. The Indian camp has made a formal complaint to the ICC on the old ball issue and demanded a change in the rules.

What happened in Ind vs Eng Lord’s Test?

According to a report by ‘The Indian Express’, an official of the Indian team said that the ball size was worsened after 10 overs during the first innings and it was not fit in the measurement ring used by the umpires. After this, when the umpires changed the ball, the ball given to Team India was about 30-35 over old.

The Indian team says that according to the rules, when a ball is changed, the ball given in its place should also be as old as the old ball. But in this case, the umpires said that they do not have a 10 -over ball in stock. (IND vs Eng)

Team India also alleged that they were not told how old the new ball is. If they were aware, they would like to play with a bad ball. Team officials say that the ICC should intervene in it and bring transparency in the rules. (IND vs Eng)

In the Lord’s Test alone, the balls were changed five times in the first innings of England in the Lord’s Test due to the continuous size of the balls. India’s second new ball also had to be converted to just 10.2 overs on the second day, causing captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Rishabh Pant expressed their resentment.
