IND U19 VS ENG U19: India recorded a big win by 6 wickets on the strength of Ronda England, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Kanishka Chauhan
IND U19 vs Eng U19 Highlights: India Under-19 defeated England Under-19 by 6 wickets in the first young ODI and took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. The first bowlers included England for just 174 runs, in which Kanishka Chauhan took 3 wickets. Then Vaibhav Suryavanshi made the target easy by hitting 48 runs in just 19 balls. Abhigyan Kundu and Rahul Kumar finally shared an unbeaten partner and won the team.
In the first young ODI played at Hov’s County Ground on Friday, 27 June, India Under-19 defeated England Under-19 by 6 wickets in a unilateral style to take a 1-0 lead in the series. England won the toss and chose the first batting but in front of the Indian bowlers, the entire team collapsed for just 174 runs in 42.2 overs.
England started fast and opener ISAC Mohammed scored 42 runs in just 28 balls which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. But Mohammad Enan of India sent him to the pavilion. The biggest innings for England was played by Rocky Flintoff, who scored 56 runs in 90 balls.
For India, Kanishka Chauhan bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets for 20 runs. Henil Patel, RS Ambarish and Mohammad Enan had 2-2 successes.
Chasing an easy target of 175 runs, India Under-19 made a stormy start. Opener Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi reached the team’s score 71 in just 7 overs. Suryavanshi scored 48 runs in 19 balls with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. He was dismissed by Ralfi Albert.
However, England’s AM French tried to return and took India to 99/3 with the wickets of Mhatre and Maulyaraj Singh Chavda. But after this, Abhigyan Kundu (45* runs, 34 balls) and Rahul Kumar (17* runs, 25 balls) shared an unbeaten 55 -run unbeaten and gave India a win with 24 overs.
