Then something that gave India a big relief and stopped the root innings in one stroke.
In the last and decisive match of the India-England Test series being played at the Oval ground in London, Dhruv Jurlel caught a catch that everyone was stunned. England have got a target of 374 runs to win. And Joe Root took a tremendous innings of 105 runs while handling the front.
Root, along with Harry Brook, partnered 195 runs and pushed Team India to the backfoot. He completed his century in the 69th over and also gave a tribute to former English cricketer Graham Thorap wearing a white headband after a century.
But as soon as Brook and Jacob Bethel were out, the route looked a little pressure. Then in the 73rd over, he played a shot away from the body by the famous Krishna ball and the edge of the bat fell. The ball flew into the air and Dhruv Jurlel caught a charismatic catch by putting a dive.
This catch of Jurael was not just the end of the root innings, but also a big relief for India. The disappointment was clearly visible after this catch on the face of the Route returned after scoring 105 runs in 152 balls.
