For the first time two centuries were scored in a T20I innings.
Several records were made during the match, the most notable of which was two Indian batsmen scoring centuries in the same T20 International match. Samson, along with Tilak Verma, once again defeated the South African bowlers. Verma looked full of confidence and enthusiasm at number three. Verma also equaled Sanju Samson’s record by scoring two consecutive T20 centuries.

Thanks to explosive unbeaten centuries from Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma, India won the toss and scored a huge score of 283 runs for one wicket. This is India’s highest score so far in T20 International by any country on foreign soil and on South African soil.

Samson, who scored a brilliant century in the first match, faced 56 balls in his century and scored 109 runs with the help of six fours and nine sixes. Samson has scored three T20 International centuries in the last five innings, which also includes two wickets. In doing so, he also became the first batsman in the world to score three centuries in a calendar year.

Biggest partnership Sanju-Tilak (209 runs)
Samson and Verma (120 not out) made a record unbroken partnership of 210 runs for the second wicket. The duo made a partnership of 210 runs in just 93 balls, which is the highest partnership for any wicket in this format for India. Earlier, Samson completed his 100 runs in 51 balls with the help of six fours and eight sixes and Verma completed his century in 41 balls which included six fours and nine sixes.

Equaled the record of 23 sixes in an innings
Indian batsmen hit a record 23 sixes on a good pitch for batting. South African fast bowler Geralf Coetzee appeared injured due to which it became difficult for him to bowl and India only benefited from this. Both batsmen dismissed medium pacers Andile Simelane and Lutho Sipamala. South African bowlers bowled 17 wide balls to overcome the panic. There was no corner of the field where these two Indians did not hit strokes.
