India advised its people to avoid traveling to Iran, know why such advisory issued such advisory

Tehran: The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued an advisory for Indian citizens traveling to Iran. The embassy has said by tweeting, “Given security related developments in the last several weeks, Indian citizens are advised to consider the current situation carefully before traveling to Iran. They are also advised to keep an eye on the latest regional developments and follow the latest consultations issued by Indian authorities.”

The embassy further wrote, “Indian citizens who are already in Iran and are willing to leave from there can take advantage of the available commercial flight and boating services right now.”


Why Mea released advisory

The Indian Embassy has issued this advisory when three Indian citizens were abducted in Iran in May 2025. All these citizens were residents of Punjab. He went to Iran. But even before reaching there, he disappeared from Pakistan. Because the way to go to Iran was through Pakistan. The families of the missing citizens claimed that all of them were being kidnapped and ransom was being sought. This claim spread sensation. All of them were later rescued after the intervention of the Iran government.

Iranian government’s response

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has also given an advice on this matter. Delhi -based Iranian Embassy said in an official warning that beware of “illegal travel agencies” and “unauthorized persons”. So that you can avoid getting caught in such difficulties.

Keep contact with embassy

The Indian Embassy has said in advisory that if you are already in Iran, keep contact with Indian Embassy. Find an alternative to returning safe India through commercial flights or sea routes. India has also said that unauthorized travel agencies do not get caught in the net. Avoid unnecessary journey. (Language)
