Jaishankar said, ‘Our goal is to make trade between the two countries balanced. For this, it is necessary to remove non-tariff obstacles and obstacles of rules quickly. There was talk of increasing oil trade further

In the discussion, Russia also agreed to fulfill the needs of Russia in Indian skilled workers, especially IT, construction and engineering sector. Jaishankar also emphasized the importance of maintaining cooperation in the energy sector. There was talk of further strengthening the trade of oil and other energy resources between India and Russia. Recently, US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 25 per cent tariff to buy Russian oil on India, but India has made it clear that its energy purchase is based on national interest and market demand.

The issue of Indians in Russian army also arose

Jaishankar also raised the issue of some Indians joining the Russian army. He said, ‘Many Indians have been released, but some cases are still left and some people are missing. We hope that Russia will resolve the matter soon. On the issue of terrorism, India and Russia resolved to fight all kinds of terrorism together. Jaishankar said, ‘We adopt a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism. It is our right to protect our citizens from cross -border terrorism. The two countries also talked about reforming the United Nations Security Council and further deepening cooperation on forums like G20, BRICS and SCO.

Ukraine and Afghanistan also discussed

Jaishankar and Lavarov also spoke on the situation in Ukraine, West Asia and Afghanistan. Jaishankar said, ‘India’s stance has always been on dialogue and diplomacy. We believe that this is the way to resolve differences. ‘ In July last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow and said that the solution to the Ukraine crisis would not come out in the battlefield, but from the conversation. In August, Modi met Ukraine President Volodimir Jailnsky and advised both sides to start a conversation for peace soon.
