India responded to Trump’s tariff.

US President Donald Trump is constantly making statements against India and also putting tariffs. So far, Trump has announced 25+25 i.e. 50 percent tariff against India. Meanwhile, news came that India has also taken steps against America. It was reported that India had banned arms deal with America amid Turmp’s tariff attack. The deal with a striker Combat Vehicle, the Javelin missile with the US has been postponed. However, this news has proved wrong.

What did the Ministry of Defense explain?

According to the information revealed by the official of the Ministry of Defense, “There are reports of India stopping the defense procurement talks with the US are false and fabricated. It is clarified that progress is being made according to the current processes in various cases of purchase.”

Trump’s tariff war against India

US President Donald Trump had announced a 25 percent tariff on India’s exports in exchange for purchasing Russian oil last week. After this, 25 percent more fee was levied on Wednesday. After this, the total tariff on India has increased to 50 percent. It is one of the most tariffs imposed by the US on any country. This additional fee will be effective after 21 days i.e. from August 27. Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of trade talks until the issue of tariff is resolved with India.

What did India say on the tariff?

Reacting to the tariff imposed by the US, India’s Foreign Ministry said- “It is unfair and indispensable to target New Delhi. Like any major economy, India will take all necessary steps to protect its national interests and economic security.”
