Rating agency Fitch has increased the confidence of India’s economy. Fitch on Thursday increased India’s average annual growth capacity to 6.4 percent by 2028. This was estimated at 6.2 percent in November 2023. According to PTI reports, Fitch updated five years ahead of the possible GDP estimates, saying that the Indian economy has returned more strongly than the time of the 2023 report, which indicates less unfavorable impact than the epidemic shock.

10 decreased estimates for 10 emerging market economies

According to the news, in its updated forecast, Fitch increased India’s average growth estimate for 2023–2028 from 6.2 percent to 6.4 percent. It said that Fitch Ratings have slightly reduced their medium -term GDP estimates in the next five years for 10 emerging market economies included in the Global Economic Outlook.

It states that our new estimate shows a growth of 3.9 percent on GDP weighted basis, which is less than 4 percent in our previous assessment published in November 2023. Also, it has been said that our fierce average EM 10 potential growth estimate is 3.1 percent, which is slightly higher than the 2023 report.

Estimated for FY 2025-26

Earlier, Fitch Ratings had reduced the growth rate of India’s GDP for the current financial year 2025-26 to 6.4 percent. Renting agency Fitch said in his special quarter update to the global economic scenario, it is difficult to say anything with full confidence about the American trade policy. On a large scale, policy uncertainty, business investment prospects are damaging. Domestic property is decreasing due to the fall in share prices and American exporters will face retaliation.
