Islamabad: Even after the antics of Pakistan, India has shown a big heart. India has already given advice to Pakistan, suffering from rain and landslides. India has warned Pakistan about the possible floods in the Tawi River. Information about this has been given in a media report on Monday. The news quoted sources as saying that this is the first major contact of its kind after the military conflict between India and Pakistan in May. It said that Pakistani officials have issued a warning based on the information provided by India.
India warns Pakistan
The newspaper ‘The News’ quoted official sources as saying that India has approached Pakistan to share information about the possible floods. There is no official confirmation of this development by India or Pakistan and usually such information is shared through the Indus Water Commissioner. Sources quoted that India claimed that India has warned Pakistan about the possible severe floods in the Tawi River in Jammu.
India takes tough steps
A day after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, India took several tough and big steps against Pakistan. It also included postponing the Indus Water Treaty of 1960. The Indus Water Treaty has been controlling the water sharing and use of the Indus River and its tributaries between India and Pakistan since 1960.
Will the situation deteriorate in Pakistan?
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of heavy rains in most parts of Pakistan till August 30. This warning of NDMA has come at a time when monsoon rains have caused havoc. Due to disasters like floods, rains and landslides, more than 788 people have lost their lives and 1,018 people have been injured. (Language)
