Pakistani social media accounts ban lifted: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India took strict steps and banned the social media accounts of all Pakistani artists in India. Apart from this, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels. These channels were accused of spreading inflammatory, communal and misleading news against the Indian Army and security agencies.

In 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed the petition to ban Pakistani artists, saying that artists cannot be punished due to political tension. After the ban was lifted in 2023, Pakistani artists were again being given work in Hindi cinema. Hania Aamir got work in the film Sardar 3 with Diljit Dosanjh, while Fawad Khan was about to make a Bollywood comeback with the film Abir Gulal. However, after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, Fawad’s film Abir Gulal’s release was stopped which was to be released on 9 May. On the other hand, the film Sardar G3 has released overseas instead of India.
