India will get a challenge from Canada, Nigeria to host 2030 Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games (CWS) announced on Wednesday that India will face a challenge from Canada, Nigeria and two other countries to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.
This confirmation by CWS ‘PTI’ (Language) The report quoted by a top formula of the Ministry of Sports came less than a month later, stating that India, which aims to host Olympics in 2036, has presented its bid for the Commonwealth Games in Gujarat in 2030.
The CWS said it had received ‘expression of interest (EOI)’ from two more countries besides Canada and Nigeria to host 2030 seasons of the Games.
Overall, seven countries have expressed interest in hosting the future Commonwealth Games, out of which five have expressed interest in organizing the centenary season. The CWS also said that New Zealand is one of the two countries that want to host the 2034 season.
The Commonwealth Games said in a statement here, “Africa, America, Asia and Oceania are the regions from which EOIs have been introduced. Canada, India and Nigeria have already publicly confirmed that they have introduced EOI for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Also, two other countries have also expressed their interest in hosting in 2030. ”
He said, “Two EOIs focus on the 2030s after 2030, including New Zealand. She has indicated her interest in hosting 2034. ”
Commonwealth Games Chief Executive Officer Katy Sadlear said that CWS is ‘thrilled with incredible interest’ hosting these games.
“This positive response from four of our six regions underlines the importance and importance of the Commonwealth Games and shows its position as the major multi-game event in the Olympic Games and Paralympics as well as the Olympic Games and Paralympics,” he said.
The future of the Commonwealth Games in recent years seemed uncertain as the state of Australia withdrew its name for 2026 Games due to lack of budget. Glasgow took steps to save the event, but after several changes in the sports program. Many important sports were removed from its program.
India has hosted these games in New Delhi in 2010 and the EOIs given for the 2030 session are all single instead of multiple nations.
The last date to submit the EOI for hosting the Games was 31 March and India’s letter was sent by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
