Indian Army Chief met Nepal’s Prime Minister Oli
Kathmandu, 22 November (HS). Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who is visiting Nepal, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Kathmandu. During this meeting held at Singh Darbar, the Prime Minister’s Office, the special relations between the two countries were discussed.
Indian Army Chief General Dwivedi expressed his gratitude to the Government of Nepal and the Nepalese Army for conferring the honorary title of Commander-in-Chief of the Nepal Army. He said that the relationship between the two countries is special in the whole world because of the tradition that has been going on for the last seven decades. General Dwivedi said that the Indian Army is always ready to cooperate with the Nepali Army. Also, commitment has been expressed to continue various types of cooperation with the army.
During this meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that even though this tradition of army has been going on for the last seven decades, the relationship between Nepal and India goes back for ages. Oli said that even in Treta Yuga there was a relation between Ayodhya and Janakpur. There was a connection with the vast region of Nepal in Dwapar Yuga and there has been a tradition of Lord Buddha of Kaliyuga and other sages and sages coming to the Himalayan region. Oli said that this tradition of the army is worth being proud of in the relationship between the two countries.
General Dwivedi, who was on a five-day visit to Nepal, was conferred the status of Honorary Maharathi of the Nepalese Army by the President of Nepal during a ceremony on Thursday. During his tour, he also participated in many programs related to the army.
