Donald Trump and Indian Army Social Media Post

Indian Army Social Media Post: US President Donald Trump is constantly making statements about Tariff. The Indian Army has shown a mirror to the US amid Trump’s deteriorating attitude and rhetoric. The Indian Army has reminded the US President a 54 -year -old incident. The Indian Army has taunted the US on Tuesday by sharing a newspaper cutting in 1971. This cutting shows how the US has been supporting Pakistan for decades.

America forgot its past

This post of the Indian Army is also important because US President Donald Trump has threatened to put more tariffs on Indian goods on buying India’s oil from Russia. A day earlier, Trump had said that he would huge increase in tariffs on goods coming from India as India is helping him by buying oil from Russia but America itself forgot how his past had been.

Indian Army post?

The Eastern Command of the Indian Army shared a cutting of a newspaper published on August 5, 1971, showing a mirror to the Trump government amidst a battle on the tariff. The cutting mentions the statement made by the then Defense Minister Vidyacharan Shukla in the Rajya Sabha. Shukla then gave a statement in Parliament about the supply of potential weapons to the Pakistani Army by NATO powers. It described how the US had been supplying weapons to Pakistan for decades for the preparation of the 1971 war. The army wrote the caption with the post, “Today, the year of warning of war – August 5, 1971”

America supplied weapons

Vidyacharan Shukla then told in his statement in the Rajya Sabha how NATO and Soviet Union were contacted to supply arms to Pakistan. The report stated that the Soviet Union and the French government refused to give weapons to Pakistan, but the US continued its support to Pakistan. It also states that both America and China had sold weapons to Pakistan at a quarter to one price. It has also cited a report that Pakistan has supplied about $ two billion weapons from the US since 1954.

America is kind to Pakistan

By the way, talking about the current time, America still seems to be kind to Pakistan. The tariffs imposed on Pakistan are a sign of this. In the recent tariffs that the US has imposed, Pakistan has been given a big discount. The Trump administration has reduced tariffs on Pakistan from 29 percent to 19 percent.
