But in the same year of January 2026, the team has to start a 3 -match ODI series in their own home with New Zealand, for which BCCI and the team have already started preparing.
Now according to sources or news has come out that recently BCCI is preparing a short list of players for this series which includes many best and explosive batsmen. BCCI has recently prepared a short list of 15 players for the 3 -match ODI series against New Zealand. But out of this, only 9 players are going to be included in the team. The special thing is that BCCI is involving these players in the team for this series.
The 15 players whose short list by BCCI has included the names of players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, the famous Krishna, Mohammed Shami, Jaspreet Bumrah. Those who are going to be included in the team for the series played against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma will have team command:
The team that BCCI is going to announce for the 3 -match ODI series played against New Zealand is going to be handed over to Hitman i.e. Rohit Sharma. As the vice -captain of the same team, young player and explosive batsman Shubman Gill is going to be appointed.
ODI series schedule against New Zealand:
After the schedule of the ODI series against New Zealand, its first match is going to be played in BCA Stadium Vadodara on Sunday, January 11, the second ODI on Wednesday, January 14, Niranjan Shah Stadium at Rajkot and the third ODI match is to be played at Holkar Cricket Stadium Indore on 18 January Sunday.
