New Delhi: Uttarakhand, which is one of the most preferred destinations for tourism in India, is leaving no stone unturned to increase tourist footfall in the state. In a significant move, the state is now gearing up to host the Tehri Acro Festival 2023. Scheduled to take place in November, the Acro Festival is going to be the country’s first international aerial acrobatic show.

The Tehri Acro Festival 2023 is part of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB)’s plan to establish Tehri as the global centre for paragliding and make the destination the world capital for paragliding. Visitors can enjoy paragliding in the hills of Tehri between November 24 and 28. The much-awaited Tehri Acro Festival will witness as many as 150 internationally recognised Indian paragliders.
Additionally, more than 35 international pilots will be participating in this thrilling, adrenaline-rushing event. The Tehri Acro Festival will provide an opportunity for all paragliding aficionados to become a part of such a mega event.
In addition to this, the festival will also witness many other thrilling and adventurous activities, such as Acro Flying, Syncro Flying, Wing Suit Flying, D-Bagging and others.

Paragliding training programmes
In a bid to increase employment opportunities, the event is likely to witness the launch of paragliding training programmes for those interested in this thrilling sport. It is one of the significant moves by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board towards sustainable tourism in Tehri. The main aim of this move is to produce at least 100 paragliding pilots in the state by the end of this year.
