Airline companies Indigo, Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic on Sunday announced a partnership to increase air connectivity from India to Europe and North America. According to the statement, “By connecting dozens of cities in the US, Canada, Europe and India, the airline companies aim to meet the increasing demand for international travel. Also set new standards for contact and cooperation in global aviation.” India’s largest airline IndiGo is expanding its international network and is preparing to start flights for 10 foreign cities in the current financial year.

Companies will work together under partnership

Indigo CEO Peter Alber, CEO Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines, Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith and Virgin Atlantic CEO Shai Weiss jointly announced the partnership in Delhi. India is one of the fastest growing civil aviation market in the world. IndiGo has been in partnership with Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic since 2022. Meanwhile, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced on Sunday, an attempt will be made to create a framework for intensive cooperation between airlines on bilateral and multilateral basis. In addition, Airlines will also consider commercial cooperation including network, loyalty, cargo and sales.

Delta will start service again for India

The statement said that they will also discover the areas of non-commercial cooperation including aircraft maintenance, stability, training and ground maintenance. IndiGo CEO Peter Albers said the company has started an ambitious journey to become a global airline by 2030. In a joint statement, CEO Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines, said that he would start a flight again for India in the coming years. Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith said the airline is very happy to pursue its current partnership with Indigo and partnership with Delta and Virgin Atlantic.

What did Air France-KLM say on partnership

Benjamin Smith said, “India is a strategic market for Air France-KLM, where we have a strong and historical appearance and soon we will increase it further. We are ready to welcome Indigo customers in our flights and play an active role in the country’s connectivity.” CEO Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines, said the company will start a flight again for India in the coming years.
