Firing incidents have taken place in the entire city
Firing incidents took place throughout the city while celebrating independence. Here in Azizabad, a girl was shot and a person named Stephen was also shot dead in Korengi. According to the report of Geo News, at least 64 others were injured in these incidents across the city. Officials have described such incidents as a result of negligence as a dangerous. During this time, people have also been appealed to celebrate Independence Day safely.
Firing in these areas
According to the police, firing incidents have occurred in areas such as Likkabad, Korangi, Liyari, Mahmudabad, Akhtar Colony, Kamari, Jackson, Baldia, Orangi Town and Paposh Nagar in Karachi. Apart from this, areas like Sharifabad, Nazmabad, Surjani Town, Zaman Town and Landhi have also fired. There are incidents of firing every year during the Independence Day celebrations in Pakistan. A similar incident was revealed in 2024. A child died and more than 95 people were injured.
What did the police say?
The police have started investigation on firing incidents and assured that strict action will be taken against those involved in aerial firing. According to ARY News report, police officials have blamed several reasons such as differences, personal enmity and robbery efforts for these incidents. According to ARY News, earlier in January, at least 42 people, including 5 women, were killed in firing incidents in Karachi and 233 people were also injured.
