Indo-Nepal relations will be deepened, seven districts of Bihar will get direct benefit:
- So far more than 400 km of road construction work has been completed under the Indo-Nepal Border Road Project in Bihar. About Rs 2,486 crore has been spent on this important project so far. According to official information, the construction work of the remaining 154 km of roads of this project is likely to be completed by the middle of this year.
- Seven districts benefit from direct connectivity
- After the completion of this road project, the seven border districts of Bihar – West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj – will get the benefit of direct connectivity. This road will be 554 km long, which will improve the traffic facility in these districts and local people will get more convenience in the journey.
- This project will not only speed up social and economic development, but will also strengthen road connectivity between India and Nepal. Additionally, border security will increase and SSB (SSB (Armed Seema Bal) personnel will get better patrolling facilities, which will help in curbing smuggling and other illegal activities.
- Tourism and business will get promotion
- India and Nepal have a shared limit of about 729 km, of which 554 km is being developed under the border road project. The project was launched in the year 2010 and is to be developed at a total of 1,372 km border in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. A large part of it has already been completed.
- The completion of this project will reduce the time taken in travel to Nepal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. The border villages will expand trade, education and health services, which will provide more facilities to the local residents.
- Development of border areas will get a new dimension
- The construction of this road will not only develop infrastructure in the border areas, but will also speed up regional tourism and business activities. The number of tourists coming from Nepal will increase, which will boost businesses related to hotels, restaurants and other tourism. Also, the economic and cultural relations between India and Nepal will also be further deeper through this road project.
