Inflation: Retail inflation in May at 6 -year low, reduced to 2.82%
Retail inflation in May has come to a six -year low of 2. 82 percent. This has been revealed in the government data released on Thursday. Relief in inflation has come due to low prices of foods, including vegetables, fruits and protein -rich items. According to PTI news, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) -based retail inflation was 3. 16 percent in April and 4. 8 percent in May 2024. According to data from the National Statistics Office (NSO), the food inflation in May was 0.99 percent, which is much less than 8.69 percent in the same month a year ago.
