IPL 2025: BCCI changed the middle season, Kolkata’s team, raised questions on board
IPL 2025 is at its peak. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a new rule for the remaining some of the remaining this season, which has started raising questions. Keeping in mind the weather, BCCI has implemented the rule of giving an additional 120 minutes for the last nine league matches of the IPL. This rule has been taken in view of rain, due to which no match is canceled.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which has been out of the playoffs of IPL 2025, has raised a big question on the BCCI and IPL Governing Council. Due to which BCCI now has to clarify them.
IPL 2025: KKR raises questions on BCCI
KKR is not happy with the new BCCI rule regarding rain. KKR CEO Venki Mysore says why this change was not done earlier when he had to be out of the playoffs due to rain. If this change was necessary, this rule should have been implemented as soon as the IPL resumed. If it had already been implemented, KKR’s team would have been in the playoffs today.
IPL 2025: RCB and KKR competed
IPL 2025 again began on 17 May. The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and KKR was to be played in Bengaluru on 17 May. However, not even a ball was played due to rain. At that time only 60 minutes of time was in force, if the 120 -minute rule was applied at that time, perhaps the 5 overs match would have been played between the two.
IPL 2025: KKR out of playoffs due to rain
The match was canceled due to rain and both teams were given one point each. RCB became safe with a point, but KKR’s dream of playoffs broke. She was eliminated on the same day.
Now hearing about the new rule, KKR’s CEOs have erupted. He says that before the start of the match, the weather was known, if this rule would have applied at that time, he would probably have another chance today.
