IPL 2025: Dual hit on Rishabh Pant, BCCI fined millions after defeat
Another bad news came out for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Pant was fined by the BCCI once again for a slow over speed. Pant has been fined Rs 30 lakh for a slow over speed for the third time this season.
The third violation of Pant, who was already punished on April 5 and 26, was fined. The remaining twelve players were fined Rs 12 lakh or 50%of their match fees, whichever is less. Fortunately for Pant, the change in the Rule of IPL 2025 saved him from suspension, as the earlier rule stated that a third time crime was banned.
Talking about this match, Pant was burnt during Lucknow batting and the LSG captain scored an unbeaten 118 off just 61 balls, including 11 fours and eight sixes. He shared a huge 152 -run partnership with Mitchell Marsh (67 off 37 balls), making the hosts a strong score of 227/3 in the prescribed 20 overs.
However, the RCB batsmen showed this goal with a brilliant game and achieved 8 balls remaining. For RCB, Virat Kohli hit the fifty while Jitesh Sharma overturned the match by hitting an unbeaten 85 in just 33 balls. Jitesh Sharma, along with Mayank Agarwal, shared a century partnership and gave his team victory. With this victory, RCB has confirmed its place in qualifiers 1 and now they will face Punjab Kings.
