IPL 2025: Lucknow, Hyderabad defeated by 6 wickets in Klassen-Mendis’s partnership and Abhishek Sharma’s storm

LSG vs SRH highlights: Abhishek Sharma, who appeared in Dhundhar form, the banged partnership of Abhishek Sharma, Klassen and Mendis (Kamindu Mendis) gave water to Lucknow Super Giant (LSG). Chasing a big target of 206 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the match in 18.2 overs. In the 61st match of IPL 2025 played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants, who came out in the fray with the expectations of the playoffs, scored a big score of 205 runs while batting first in this crucial match. The beginning was tremendous, the pair of Mitchell Marsh and Eden Markram added 69 runs to the powerplay itself. Both gave a strong start to the team by parting 100+ runs for the first wicket.

Marsh completed his fifty in 28 balls, which was his fifth half century of the season. At the same time, Markram also got life and he also completed his fifty on the first ball of the 13th over. Marsh scored 65 and Markram scored 61 runs.

In the middle order, Nicholas Puran hit 45 runs off 26 balls to bring the score to 200. However, in the last over, Lucknow lost 3 wickets in a row and could score 205 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. For SRH, Ishaan Malinga took 2 wickets while bowling the best.

Hyderabad started to chase a target of 206 runs. Although Atharva Taida was dismissed for 13 runs in the second over, Abhishek Sharma started batting in a stormy style. He rooted a fifty in just 18 balls and was dismissed for 59 runs off 20 balls.

In the powerplay, SRH scored 72 runs losing just 1 wicket. In the 7th over, after 4 consecutive sixes on Bishnoi ball and then dismissed in the next over, there was also a hot on the ground between Abhishek and Digvesh Rathi.

After this, Ishaan Kishan played 35 runs and Henrik Klassen played important innings of 47 runs. After Klassen was dismissed, Kamindu Mendis added 32 runs while playing wisely, although he retired in the 18th over.

In the end, Aniket Verma and Nitish Reddy together won SRH in 18.2 overs. Digvesh Rathi took 2 wickets for Lucknow, but the rest of the bowling was nothing special.

With this victory, Hyderabad won the fourth win of the season, while Rishabh Pant -led Lucknow team became the fifth team to be out of the playoffs. Now only two teams are left in the playoff race, Delhi and Mumbai. The DC vs Mi match to be held on May 21 has now become like a knockout. If Mumbai wins, it will reach the playoffs, and it will be a ‘do or die’ match for Delhi.
