IPL 2025: RCB made Maharikord, IPL playoffs recorded the fastest win in history

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKs) by 8 wickets in the first qualifier match of IPL 2025 played at Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium in Mullampur on Thursday (29 May). With this, RCB has entered the final and the team has done this feat for the fourth time.

After receiving the first batting, Punjab Kings scored 101 runs in 14.1 overs. In which Marcus Stoinis scored 26 runs. Eight players of the team could not reach the double figures. In response, RCB won by losing 2 wickets in 10 overs. In which Phil Soult scored an unbeaten 56 in 27 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes.

Fastest win

RCB’s name has been recorded in the name of winning the highest ball while chasing the target in the history of IPL playoffs. RCB won 10 overs i.e. 60 balls remaining. Earlier in IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders chased the target and won the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad with 57 balls remaining.

The highest win in an IPL season

This is RCB’s tenth win in IPL 2025 and this is the second time that the team has won so much in a season. Earlier in IPL 2011 too, RCB won ten matches and the team reached the finals that season.

First team to do so

RCB has become the first team in the history of the IPL, which has done the act to all out the opposing team within 15 overs in the playoff match.
