In this Test series, the issue of Jasprit Bumrah’s overworkload was heated. Because before the series started, he said that he will play only three Test matches in this series. Now former captain of Team India Dilip Vengsarkar has given a big statement about his overworkload.

Dilip Vengsarkar has made a big statement about the overworkload of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. In this statement, he has linked Bumrah’s play in IPL 2025 with an overworkload. He has also raised strict questions on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Dilip Vengsarkar targeted BCCI

Speaking to the Times of India, Vengsarkar said, “Given the importance of India vs England Test series and their weak bench, BCCI, selectors and team management should have asked Bumrah to leave IPL 2025.”

He further said, “If I were the chief selector, I would have explained to Mukesh Ambani and Bumrah how important it is for him to leave the IPL for the England series.” Vengsarkar also said that playing for the country should always be a priority.

Bumrah’s performance in IND Vs Eng Test Series

Jasprit Bumrah was able to participate in only three Tests in the five -match Test series played between India and England. He bowled in five innings of this Test series. In these five innings, Bumrah took 14 wickets from an economy of 3.04. In which he took five wickets in an innings twice.

Jasprit Bumrah data in IPL 2025

Jasprit Bumrah has taken a total of 183 wickets in the IPL. He did not participate in the opening matches of IPL 2025. But later he joined Mumbai Indians. In IPL 2025, Jasprit Bumrah took 18 wickets from an economy of 6.67. Bumrah also took four wickets in a match of IPL 2025.
