Iran and Israel The increase in war between the West, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen will have a widespread impact on India’s trade with West Asian countries. Experts have expressed this opinion. He said that the war has already started affecting India’s exports to Iran and Israel. The US attacked three sites in Iran in the early hours of Sunday, including it in the War of Israel. Its purpose is to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, so that an old enemy can be weakened, leading to a widespread regional conflict, as Iran has accused the US of launching a ‘dangerous war’.

India’s trade will have widespread impact

Sharad Kumar Saraf, a Mumbai -based exporter and founder chairman of Technocraft Industries India, said that we are now in a big trouble due to this war. This will have a widespread impact on India’s trade with West Asian countries. Saraf said that his company is also stopping the consignment sent to these two countries. Technocraft Industries makes drum closure, nylon and plastic plugs, capil closures and clamps. Another exporter said that the Indian merchant community is already struggling with the impact of the attack of Yemen-backed huts on the Israeli-Hamas conflict and freight ships in the Red Sea. Due to this, the freight line from India is taking consignment from the ‘Cape of Good Hope’ surrounding the African continent. Now, due to the Iran -Israel War, another major trading route – the hormuz is being affected.

Oil tanker movement will be affected

Saraf said, this route will affect the movement of oil tankers. I think oil tankers will find new routes, but this will increase crude oil prices. This will affect inflation as crude oil prices play an important role in the price of other products. Research Institute Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) stated that widespread regional tension may threaten India’s large trade with a wide West Asian region including Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, where Indian exports are total $ 8.6 billion and imports $ 33.1 billion. GTRI founder Ajay Srivastava said, “Mall transport lanes in this corridor, access to the port or any disruption in financial systems will badly affect India’s trade flow, increase freight and increase insurance costs, and create new supply chain risk for Indian businesses.”

India’s export to Iran was $ 1.24 billion

India’s exports to Iran were $ 1.24 billion in the last financial year (2024–25), including basmati rice ($ 75.32 million), banana ($ 5.32 million), soya miles ($ 7.06 million), Bengal gram ($ 2.79 million) and tea ($ 2.55 million). Import in the last financial year was $ 441.8 billion. India’s exports with Israel in FY 2024-25 stood at $ 2.1 billion and imports $ 1.6 billion. He said that the ongoing US-Israel attack on Iran and threat of broad struggle can cause a lot of obstruction in this trade.
