Irfan Pathan on Workload Management: Former star all -rounder of the Indian team, Irfan Pathan, is in the news due to his recent statements. He has broken his silence on many reports going on in cricket. In this, he also openly expressed his opinion on the issue started before the England tour. This issue is of workload management.

In fact, Irfan Pathan has made a big statement on the ongoing debate about workload management in cricket. He did not directly name anyone, but his words were clearly towards Jaspreet Bumrah. Pathan believes that when a player gets into the field wearing an Indian jersey, he should give everything for the team without worrying about the workload.

Irfan Pathan’s statement on workload management

Irfan Pathan said in an interview, “The players should listen to their body and also take help of technology and recovery. But as soon as you step on the field, the workload does not matter. At that time you are wearing Indian jersey and then you have to play only for the team. You cannot say that I will not only put only three overs or only four overs.”

Siraj example

Irfan Pathan gave the example of Mohammad Siraj during this period. He said, “I am not talking about any one player, but everyone. Siraj bowled at a speed of 145 kmph on the last day of the last Test against England recently. He was also burdened with work, right? But he gave up everything. This is the feeling of real cricket.”

Questions arose about Bumrah

Significantly, before the tour of England, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir had announced that Jaspreet Bumrah will not play more than three Tests under the workload management. Bumrah participated in the first, third and fourth Tests in this series and took a total of 14 wickets. But he was excluded from the fifth and decisive Test and was later released from the team.
