Bhopal: One of the country’s premium trains, drugs worth Rs 54 crore being taken for smuggling in Rajdhani Express have been seized in Bengaluru and Bhopal. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized bags filled with hydroponic hemp at Bengaluru and Bhopal stations under ‘Operation We Out’. 29.88 kg of hydroponic cannabis was seized in Bengaluru, which was seized a few hours later in Bhopal 24.18 kg. Both consignments were to be taken to Delhi by Rajdhani Express. This method of smuggling gave consciousness to the investigating agencies. Mastermind arrested

A man returning from Thailand was caught with 18 kg of cannabis from a hotel in Bengaluru. After this, the alleged mastermint of this entire game of smuggling was arrested in New Delhi with a cash of Rs 1.02 crore. So far 6 people have been detained in this case.

Earlier, in October 2024, the Gujarat Anti -Terrorism Squad and Narcotics Control Bureau busted a huge drug factory in Bagroda Industrial Area in Bhopal, from where a 907 kg mefedron worth Rs 1,800 crore was seized. Regarding the increasing seizures of drugs labs and drugs in Bhopal, experts believe that Bhopal is becoming a center of production and distribution of such drugs. Due to being situated in the middle of the country, the access of drugs from other parts becomes easier. At the same time, Dawood Ibrahim’s syndicate, which was synonymous with forced recovery and gang war, is now quietly engaged in drug trade – a business that has higher profits and less risk.
