Rafah: Israeli security forces have firing on people heading towards a support distribution center in Gaza. At least 27 people died in this firing of the Israeli army. Palestine’s health officers and eyewitnesses have given information about this. This is the third incident of firing on people visiting the aid distribution center in the last 3 days. However, the Israeli army has said that it had fired some suspects who had faced face with security forces. Security forces also said that the suspects had ignored the bullet fired as a warning.

The Israeli army said it had firing to drive away the suspects. Israeli Army spokesman EF Diffrin said, “Hamas has exaggerated the number of casualties” and the case is being investigated. He said that the army is not preventing Palestinians from reaching the aid center in the distribution areas, but is allowing them to go there. The ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’, which operates the aid distribution center, says that there is no violence in or around the assistance distribution site.

A spokesperson for the ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’ said that many civilians were injured and many others were killed after leaving the safe corridor. Eyewitnesses have said that the firing incident occurred about one kilometer from the distribution site of the Foundation. This place is located in the deserted southern city of Rafah.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 27 people have been killed in the shootout. Hishm Mahana, a spokesman of the International Committee of ‘Red Cross’, said that 184 injured people have been admitted to his ‘Field Hospital’ in Rafah, out of which 19 were declared dead on bringing the hospital while 8 people died during treatment. Nursing chief Mohammad Sakar in the hospital said that 2 women and 3 children were among those who died. Hospital director Atif al-Hut said that most of the patients were injured by bullet. (AP)
