Jerusalem: The ship on which social activist Gita Thangberg was boarded has been seized by the Israeli army. Thangberg was deported from Israel on Tuesday, a day after the ship was seized. Israeli Foreign Ministry has given information about this. The Israeli Foreign Ministry shared a picture of Thangberg on the social media platform X and wrote that her country left for Sweden after reaching France in Thangberg plane. Thangberg was one of the 12 passengers on a ship called ‘Madeline’ carrying aid material in Gaza.

The organization named ‘Freedom Floral Calishan’ organized the visit to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza Patti. The organization said that the Israeli naval forces seized the ship about 200 km from Gaza in the international water area. Other rights groups, including the organization, described Israel’s steps as a violation of international law. Israel dismissed the allegations, saying that such ships violate Gaza’s naval blockade. The seized ship has been brought to the Ashdod port.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Tuesday that one of the detained French activists signed the removal order and will leave Israel on Tuesday and go to France.
