ISRO President V. Narayanan made a big announcement on Tuesday, stating that the space agency is working on a rocket whose height will be as much as a 40 -storey building and which will be able to install the 75,000 kg (75 -ton) weight ‘payload’ in the lower class (low meaning orbit) of the Earth. Explain that low meaning orbit is the class that is at an altitude of 600-900 km from the Earth, where communication-observation satellites are placed.

Why compare India’s first rocket?

Narayanan compared it to India’s first rocket, which Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was created. He said, “You know what is the ability of the rocket?” The first rocket manufactured by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was 17 tonnes, which could install 35 kg weight in the lower earth orbit. Today we are imagining a rocket carrying 75,000 kg weight, which will have a height as much as a 40 -storey building. ‘

What is the specialty of this rocket?

  1. It is a big achievement to take 75 tonne weighing ‘payload’ into low meaning orbit. This rocket will use ISRO’s indigenous technology, which reflects India’s self -sufficiency.
  2. The launch of the US’s 6,500 kg satellite shows India’s growing credibility in space.
  3. This rocket will increase India’s strength in areas such as military communication, earth observation and navigation.
  4. ISRO is already working on the Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV), in which the first phase will be reusable. This new rocket can also be a step in this direction.

What is the big mission of ISRO this year?

Navic satellite- Narayanan said that this year ISRO has set several important missions, including the ‘Navigation with India Consultation System’ (NAVIC) satellite, N1 rocket and Indian rockets to install the US -weighing communication satellite in the orbit of the US 6,500 kg in orbit. He said that by 2035, 52 -tonne space station will be constructed, while ISRO is working on Venus Orbiter Mission.

GSAT-7R- ISRO has planned to launch several satellites including GSAT-7R (Communication Satellite for Indian Army) this year. The GSAT-7R is specially designed for the Indian Navy and will replace the GSAT-7 (Rukmini) satellite.

Technology Demonstration Satellite (TDS)- This satellite will test new techniques, which will form the basis for future missions.

America’s communication satellite- ISRO will install the US’s 6,500 kg of block-2 blued satellite into orbit with its LVM3 rocket. This satellite belongs to AST Spacemobile Company and it will give smartphones directly to internet connection from space. This reflects India’s strength of international space cooperation.
