For the last two days, there is enthusiasm for shopping for this festival in the markets across the country. From clothes, jewellery, make-up-cosmetics, gift items and puja items, there is a lot of shopping going on. According to traders, there will be a business worth about Rs 22 thousand crore across the country on Karva Chauth festival. If we talk only about Delhi, there is going to be a sale of about Rs 4 thousand crores here. If this happens, all the old sales records will be broken on this occasion.
CAT General Secretary said that on Karva Chauth, everything from jewellery, clothes, make-up material, sarees, puja calendar and puja materials including Karva, sieve, lamp, flower sticks and other puja related materials will be purchased. Most of these women also buy story books and lamps. Apart from this, different types of karve thali like red glass bangles, toe rings, anklets, lockets and bangles are purchased for adornment. This time, karvas made of silver are also available in the market, the demand for which is expected to be high. A lot of crowd is visible in the markets across the country. This year the markets are looking more vibrant than last year.
Khandelwal said that applying mehndi on Karva Chauth is considered very auspicious. Therefore, there is a huge business of Mehndi across the country. There is a big opportunity for better business on Karva Chauth. According to Indian tradition, booking of gold jewelery etc. for weddings starting from the coming November also starts from Karva Chauth. Khandelwal said that now on Karva Chauth, a large number of men also keep the fast of Karva Chauth with their wives for the long and healthy life of their wives. He has been observing this fast for more than 20 years. Along with this, he has also been continuously motivating businessmen across the country to observe Karva Chauth fast. The result of this is that now people across the country including Delhi, especially businessmen, keep the fast of Karva Chauth. After becoming MP, Khandelwal has now started this campaign in his parliamentary constituency Chandni Chowk.
