‘It seems like the bat is big ..’, Mark Wood told this Indian star the most difficult batsman
England fast bowler Mark Wood recently mentioned the most difficult batsmen of his career. Interestingly, he chose an Indian star against whom he has always been challenging against him. Wood also made a fun statement about the specialty of this player.
England’s star Pacer Mark Wood recently interacted on the overlap cricket YouTube channel and spoke the names of the batsmen against whom he found the most difficult to play. India captain Rohit Sharma was named at the top of this list. Wood said that he tried to harass Rohit with short balls several times, but when Rohit is set, it is almost impossible to stop him. Wood jokingly said that while batting, it seems as if Rohit’s bat is “growing up and getting wide.”
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Wood also named Virat Kohli, Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh. According to Wood, he knows that Kohli’s weakness is to bowl outside the off stump i.e. the fourth and fifth stump line, but he also believes that it is not easy to dismiss Kohli in that area, because very rarely he misses the ball.
Wood further states that Steve Smith always confuses the bowlers with his unique batting style, sometimes it seems that they will be LBW, but still they do not miss the ball. At the same time, Mitchell Marsh is full of powerful shots, which makes him a dangerous batsman for any bowler.
Wood will again face Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh in the Ashes series later this year. At the same time, they can now be seen in the IPL or 2027 World Cup with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
