According to a media report, former head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, Jason Gillespi has decided to take legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board.

After resigning from the post in December 2024, Gillespie has not received salary, due to which he has decided to take legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). According to the report, Gillespie has said that PCB has to pay a bonus as well as salary for the Test series win over England and ODI win against Australia last year.

The report quoted sources as saying that Gilespi alleged that the PCB did not honor the ‘written financial assurance’. Gillespie has also sent the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, it is not known whether the ICC has any right to mediate the issue. Former Pakistan Red-Ball Head Coach Jason Gilespi claimed that he is still waiting for his salary from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

On his Instagram account, Gillespie posted a story that was related to his interview with the Pakistan media, stating that the PCB still had to pay some of his salary. Gilespie and South African Gary Kirsten was appointed as the head coach of the red ball and white ball respectively by the PCB on a two -year contract by PCB.

Gillyspi wrote in an Insta Story, “I am still waiting for some salary from PCB. Gary Kirsten and I was sold to form a team. After losing a match, suddenly, that dream is thrown out of the window.”

However, the PCB has denied the claims of Gillespie. The PCB said in its statement, “Pakistan Cricket Board refutes claims of non -payment of arrears by former head coach. The former head coach suddenly left his post without giving a four -month notice period, which was a clear violation of the terms of the contract. The coaching contract clearly mentioned the notice period applied to both sides and the coach had complete information about it.”
