Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released a new report regarding telecom users.
Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL are the four major telecom companies in the country. Jio, Airtel and VI are private sector companies while BSNL is a government telecom company. Private companies increased the prices of recharge plans in July 2024. After this move, all the companies had a big loss of customers, but now the picture has changed completely once again. This was revealed in the new report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
The new report of April 2025 has been shared by TRAI, in which the data of new customers added this month has been shared by telecom companies. According to the new report of the telecom regulator, most of the customers have been connected with them this month. Jio has once again proved that it is the number one company in the telecom sector.
With whom in April, how many customers are connected
According to the April 2025 report of TRAI, the company has added over 26 lakh subscribers alone in the month of April. According to the report, Reliance Jio has added more than 26 lakh 44 thousand rupees new mobile users this month. According to the new report, now the total number of customers of Jio has increased to 47.24 crores.
In April, Airtel stood second in terms of connecting customers. Airtel added 17 lakh new customers with him this month. On the other hand, if we talk about the third largest telecom company in the country, then Vodafone Idea also faced loss this month. In the month of April, Vodafone Idea lost 6.5 lakh customers.
Market share of telecom companies
Currently, Reliance Jio has the highest market share. Jio’s market share is around 40.76%. At the same time, Airtel’s total market share is around 33.65%. Vodafone Idea has a market share of around 17.66%. If we talk about the market share of government telecom company BSNL and MTNL, then it is only 7.84%.
Jio benefited from these states
According to TRAI report, Gujarat, Bihar and Delhi include Gujarat, Bihar and Delhi in the case of the highest customer in April 2025. At the same time, big circles like Mumbai and Kolkata recorded the biggest decline in the number of customers. Reliance Jio’s fast growing number of customers has increased the tension of Airtel and VI.
