Jnanpith Award to Sanskrit scholar Rambhadracharya

New Delhi:President Draupadi Murmu on Friday presented the 58th Jnanpith Award to the famous Sanskrit scholar Jagadguru Rambhadracharya and famous poet-songman Gulzar. The entire Singh Kalra, popularly known as Gulzar, is known for his contribution to Hindi cinema and is considered one of the finest Urdu poets of this era. Poet-songwriter Gulzar could not attend the ceremony due to ‘health related problems’.

Rambhadracharya’s ‘multi -faceted contribution’ appreciated

Chitrakoot is the author of more than 240 books and texts, including 75 -year -old Rambhadracharya, 75 -year -old Rambhadracharya, famous Hindu spiritual leader, and four epics. The Sanskrit scholar was awarded a citation, cash prize and a bronze replica of Vagdevi Saraswati. Addressing the award ceremony, the President praised Rambhadracharya’s ‘multidimensional contribution’ for Sanskrit literature and society. He said, “Rambhadracharya ji has presented inspiring parables of excellence. You are rich in versatility and your contribution is multifunctional. Despite being blocked the sight, you have done extraordinary service to literature and society with your divine point of view. You are a simple poet. ”

Murmu said, “Sanskrit literature written by you is vast and excellent. You are an extraordinary worshiper of divine language Sanskrit. You have a special place among the best interpreters of Indian traditions. “He appreciated Panini’s interpretation of ‘Ashtadhyayi’ as well as ‘Brahmasutra’, ‘Bhagavad Gita’ and his comments on the major Upanishads.

Gulzar could not attend the ceremony due to illness

The President also congratulated 90 -year -old Gulzar and wished him a complete health. He said, “I wish him all the best healthy and active and keep contributing to art, literature, society and country.” He said, “Gulzar Saheb has kept his loyalty towards literature creation for decades. It can be said that Gulzar Saheb is a writer who has established tenderness in the midst of hardness. People active in these areas should be inspired and learned from their art and literature activities.

Rambhadracharya’s citation said, “At the age of five, he started a deep study of Bhagavad Gita and at the age of seven, he started studying Ramcharitmanas under the guidance of revered teachers. His widespread understanding of language and efficiency in all examinations in Sanskrit, he got the top position and gold medal in university studies. This recognized many scholars and teachers to recognize their intelligence and creative ability. Rambhadracharya, the author of the poetry, poetry, letter, prose, verses, Sanskrit literary works, has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2005 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015.

Gulzar brought a new style in Urdu poetry

Gulzar’s citation states that Gulzar brought a new style in Urdu poetry. The popular songs of Gulzar include the film ‘Maine Tere Liye’, the film ‘Dil Lagta Hai’, the film ‘Dil Se’ of the film ‘Dil Se’. Gulzar, author of the book ‘Ravi Paar’, has received the National Award seven times and 21 times the Filmfare Award. Rambhadracharya and Gulzar were awarded the award for 2023. Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla has been declared the winner of the 59th Jnanpith Award for 2024.
