The results of the student union elections have been released at Jawaharlal Nehru University. In the election, Left candidates have won 3 out of 4 central panel posts in this election. Nitish Kumar of All India Students Union (AISA) has won the post of president. At the same time, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has finally broken the drought of not staying in power for about 9 years. ABVP has captured the post of Joint Secretary in the JNU Students’ Union election. Let us know who got this election how many votes and who has won in which position.

What was the result of election?

  • Nitish Kumar of AISA has won the post of president in the JNU Students Union election. He received 1,702 votes. At the same time, ABVP’s Shikha Swaraj got 1,430 votes and the students Federation of India (SFI) supported Tayba Ahmed got 918 votes.
  • Democratic Students Federation (DSF) candidate Manisha has won the post of Vice President in the JNU Students Union election. Manisha received 1,150 votes. ABVP’s Nittu Gautam received 1,116 votes.
  • DSF has also won the post of General Secretary in the election. Its candidate Muntha Fatima got 1,520 votes. At the same time, Kunal Rai of ABVP got 1,406 votes.
  • ABVP has won the post of Joint Secretary in the JNU Students Union election. Vaibhav Meena got 1,518 votes and won. Naresh Kumar of AISA has received 1,433 votes, Nigam Kumari of Progressive Students Association (PSA) has received 1,256 votes.

ABVP win after 9 years

With Vaibhav Meena won the post of Joint Secretary, ABVP has won the post of central panel for the first time after about 9 years. Earlier in the year 2015-16, Sourav Sharma won this post. Let us know that the BJP won the post of president in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union election in the year 2000-01. Sandeep Mahapatra emerged victorious in this election. AISA expressed concern over ABVP’s victory for the post of Joint Secretary in this election and called it a challenge. At the same time, ABVP has described this victory as a historic change and said that the Left -called Red Fort has been broken.
