Joint Commission meeting held between India and Iran, both countries clear on terrorism

India -ran meeting: On the one hand, while the tension between India and Pakistan has reached its peak, on the other hand, the 20th Joint Commission meeting (JCM) was held between India and Iran in New Delhi. The meeting was co-headed by India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. During the JCM, both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including business and economic issues, agriculture, healthcare, cultural exchange, contact and cooperation on relations between people.
Condemnation of terrorism
Regional and global development of mutual interests was also discussed in the meeting. The Indian side informed the Iranian delegation about the cross -border relations of the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Both sides strongly condemned terrorism and called for increasing regional cooperation to deal with the danger.
Consent on many issues
Both sides welcomed the signing of memorandum for medical product regulation and customs cooperation. During this time, India and Iran agreed to adopt a human view on issues related to prisoners, fishermen, sailors and students.
Araghchi met President Draupadi Murmu
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met President Draupadi Murmu during his visit to India. During this, the Iranian Foreign Minister also held a meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
