Kaif raised questions on Shreyas Iyer’s neglect for England tour; Sai Sudarshan has a chance and ignored forms for years
Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif has questioned Shreyas Iyer’s neglect in the Indian Test team for the tour of England. Kaif believes that when Sai Sudarshan can get a chance on the basis of IPL form, why not Iyer, who has been doing well for a long time. Discussion on social media about this selection policy of BCCI is also hot.
The BCCI announced an 18 -member Indian team for the five -Test series against England on 24 May. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced the team by holding a press conference in Mumbai, but the biggest shock in this team came when Shreyas Iyer’s name did not appear.
Shreyas Iyer’s domestic performance has also been fine and he has batted brilliantly as the captain of Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. Iyer has scored 514 runs in 14 matches this season, too at a strike rate of 171.90 and an average of 51.40. Despite this, he did not get a place in the Test team.
For this, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has raised a question. Talking on his YouTube channel, Kaif said, “Sai Sudarshan is a brilliant player, no doubt. But he was included in the Test team on the basis of IPL performance (679 runs). Iyer is continuously doing well, 550 runs in World Cup 2023, also the best performance in Champions Trophy, and now 500+ Ran
Kaif asked the BCCI that one player was being given a chance on the basis of IPL and the other is being ignored. “Why these double criteria?” Many fans are also asking the same question.
Team India’s squad is as follows:
Shubman Gill (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice -captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Ishwar, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurlel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Krishnade, Akashdeep, Akashdeep, Akashdeep, Kulpadeep.
