Chennai: Tamil cinema veteran and Makkal Nidhi Mayyam i.e. MNM chief Kamal Haasan surprised everyone by posting a post on X on Thursday. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked to bring the voice of the people of Tamil Nadu to Delhi. In his post, Kamal Haasan described this meeting with PM Modi as ‘good luck’. Kamal Haasan wrote in his tweet, ‘Today I had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a representative of the people of Tamil Nadu and an artist, I made some requests to him, the most prominent of which was the request to gain a lot of recognition to the antiquity of Kailadi. I urged the Prime Minister to support the Tamil people in bringing the grandeur of Tamil civilization and the eternal pride of Tamil language to the world. BJP and Kamal Haasan have been different
Kamal Haasan and BJP’s paths have always been different. Recently, Tamil Nadu BJP accused Kamal Haasan of commenting against Sanatan Dharma. BJP leader Tamilisai Saundararajan said that Kamal Haasan has insulted Hindu sentiments to please Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit vice president Khushboo Sundar also described Haasan’s comments as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘absolutely unnecessary’. The ideological conflict between Kamal Haasan and BJP is old, so his meeting with PM Modi has become a matter of discussion in political corridors.
