‘Karan cried like a child, Mitchell vowed not to return to Pakistan’-Rishad Hussain apologizes to U-turn, Karan and Mitchell
Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hussain (Tom Curran) of England and Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand have apologized unconditionally over a dispute during PSL 2025. He admitted that his statement was incorrectly introduced into the media, causing damage to the image of fellow players.
Bangladeshi spinner Rishad Hussain, who came into controversy over a statement that came out during the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025), has now accepted his mistake. He publicly apologized to England fast bowler Tom Karan and New Zealand batsman Deril Mitchell, saying that his statement was emotional and was presented in the wrong context.
These three players spent time together while playing for Lahore Qualandars in PSL. When the PSL had to be stopped in the middle due to Indo-Pak tension and the players reached Dubai, in an interview, Rishad said that Tom Karan was “crying like a child” and Mitchell had “vowed to come back to Pakistan.”
He later posted on social media, clarifying, “I spoke to some Bangladeshi journalists during the transit at Dubai Airport. At that time I was emotional and my words were not taken in full context. It was misinterpreted that I did not want at all.”
Rishad further wrote, “I apologize unconditionally to Derryl Mitchell and Tom Karan. I respect my comrades very much and consider the value of Qualandars Brotherhood to the heart.”
Talk about performance, the season of Lahore Qualandars was average. Deril Mitchell scored 241 runs in 9 matches, while Rishad took 9 wickets in 5 matches. Tom Karan got a chance to play only 3 matches.
