Kerala government employee made objectionable post on deceased nurse, police arrested

297 people have died in the Air India Plain Crash incident in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, a Kerala government employee has been arrested on Facebook for making objectionable remarks about a state nurse. Please tell that the nurse died in a plane crash in Ahmedabad. On this matter, the police said that Junior Superintendent A.K. Holyan has been suspended on charges of sexual harassment and caste related comments against Ranjita of Nair community.

Case filed against accused officer

Police said the accused was arrested after a few hours of this comment. A case has been registered under Section 75 (1) (4) (to make sexual comments), 79 (intended to insult women) and 196 (1) (a) (promoting enmity between various groups on the basis of caste), “said an official of Hosadurg police station in Kasargod district on the matter. The official said a case has also been registered against him under Section 67 (A) (penalty for publishing or transmission of pornographic content in electronic form) of the Information and Technology (IT) Act.

Officer suspended

Please tell that Ranjita has also died in Ahmedabad aircraft crash. Ranjita was the mother of two children and she was working as a nurse in Britain. After spending some time abroad, she once again came to Kerala to plan to join government services and to complete her job related formalities. On this matter, the state revenue minister termed Pritan’s remarks as abusive and said that the order for suspension of the accused officer has been issued.
