Kit bag left in Pakistan … Mendis narrated the dreadful story before playing in IPL
Kusal Mendis Forgets Kit Bag: Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis has mentioned the scary incident with him during the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Amidst Indo-Pak tension, Mendis had to leave Pakistan in a hurry, even had to leave his kitbag there. Before the IPL playoffs, when expectations were broken, Sri Lankan Fan, who lives in Pakistan ‘Mr. Wayne’, came to the fore and reached Colombo with a bag.
Sri Lankan star batsman Kusal Mendis has recently shared an experience that is as scary as it is as emotional. While playing in PSL 2025, he was trapped in Pakistan when the situation between India and Pakistan became quite tense.
Mendis had to leave Pakistan quickly in an atmosphere like war. The situation was so serious that he could not even pick up his kitbag. Before the IPL 2025 playoffs, he wanted to get his bag in any way, but nothing could be done despite all the efforts.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wayne, a Sri Lankan citizen living in Pakistan, did a heartbreaking work. He picked up Mendis’s bag and reached Colombo with him. Mendis shared the whole story on social media ‘X’, while praising Mr. Wayne, wrote “This person is really amazing.”

Now Mendis is going to join Gujarat Titans, which is moving firmly towards the playoffs in IPL 2025. Jose Butler will return to England on 26 May, so GT has included Mendis as a replacement. His experience and strikeing power can benefit the team in big matches.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the match against Delhi Capitals on 18 May, which can win and secure their place in the Gujarat Titans playoffs.
