KL Rahul repeated history, only second Indian batsmen who scored two Test centuries in Lord’s

KL Rahul Record: KL Rahul once again proved himself and made a special record on the historic ground of Lord’s. Rahul’s brilliant batting in India’s first innings in the third Test included him in the special list of Indian cricket veterans. Due to his continuity in Test cricket and his great performance on foreign pitches, he has done such an act which could only do another Indian in 93 years.

Lord’s pitch and KL Rahul’s relationship has become even more special. On Saturday, July 12, Rahul scored a brilliant century in India’s first innings in the third England-India Test, which was his second Test century at Lord’s. Earlier in 2021, he played a memorable innings of 129 runs here.

Rahul completed his 100 runs with a single off Jofra Archer. This was his 10th century of Test career and the most important thing is that 9 of them have made foreign land. With this century, Rahul has become only the second batsman for India to score two Test centuries in Lord’s. Earlier, Dilip Vengsarkar had scored three centuries here. That is, for the first time after 1932, an Indian has repeated this achievement.

The list of Indians who scored a Test century in Lord’s is long, but Rahul has now put himself close to a veteran like Vengsarkar. Dilip Vengsarkar has 3 centuries in Lord’s name, while Rahul is now at number two after him with 2 centuries.
