Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi India Visit: After the struggle in the Galwan, the snow in India and China seems to be melting. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s tour of India starts on Monday. Wang Yi will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit. The Ministry of External Affairs has given information about this. This meeting on Tuesday is also important because it will take place a few days before Modi’s proposed visit to China to attend the annual summit of Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO).

Before meeting Prime Minister Modi, Wang will hold separate talks with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, in which both sides can discuss several major issues including border situation, business and restoration of flight services. The visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister is being seen as part of the efforts being made by both neighbors to improve relations.
Why is Wang Yi’s visit to India important?
After the 2020 military conflict in the Galwan Valley, relations between the two countries reached the lower level. People familiar with the case said that during Wang’s visit, the two sides can discuss new confidence-making measures for permanent peace and stability at the disputed border. Wang’s visit is also considered important because it is taking place amid increasing tension in Indo-US relations with US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose ‘tariff’.

According to the details issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Chinese Foreign Minister will reach New Delhi at around 4:15 pm on Monday evening. He will hold bilateral talks with S Jaishankar at around six in the evening. Wang and National Security Advisor Doval will hold a new version of the Special Representative (SR) talks on the border issue on Tuesday at 11 am. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Wang will meet Prime Minister Modi at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening. (Language)
