Before this, it is considered auspicious to worship Kharna by offering Arghya to the Sun. Apart from this, on the day of Kharna, Sukarma Yoga will remain till 10.59 am, followed by Dhriti Yoga.

Kharna method of worship

To observe Kharna on the second day of Chhath, the Vraati should clean the place of worship thoroughly. After that take bath etc. and wear clean clothes. Then in the evening, just before sunset, offer Arghya to Lord Sun. For the worship of Chhath Maiya in the evening, make kheer using rice, jaggery and milk on an earthen stove. First of all offer Chhath Mata. At the end, those observing the fast must accept Prasad.

Rules of Kharna

Special care is taken of cleanliness during Chhath Mahavrat. Therefore, prepare the Prasad only with purity and purity. Jaggery kheer is prepared in a brass vessel on an earthen stove. People fasting on this day should not sleep on the bed. Slept on a mat spread on the ground. Apart from this, do not consume anything without offering Arghya to the Sun.

Importance of Kharna

Kharna is performed on the second day of Chhath Mahaparva. According to belief, Kharna means purity. Kharna is one of the most important days of Chhath Puja. This fast is observed for physical and mental purification. Only after doing Kharna, the 36-hour waterless fast begins.
