China’s Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Zhang Shiaongang did not even give importance to the reports of India recovering the PL-15E missile, saying it is a radar-directed missile. Colonel Zhang described it as the most advanced rocket of its kind built by China. Zhang told the media, “The missile you have mentioned is an export tool and has been displayed in defense exhibitions in the country and abroad.”

Colonel Zhang said that India and Pakistan are neighbors that cannot be separated. He deferred questions related to the claim of Indian officials that China provided air defense and satellite aid to Pakistan in military conflict and Chinese weapons systems performed less than average. Zhang reiterated the earlier statements of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, saying, “We hope that both sides will remain calm and restrained and avoid the action that makes the situation more complex.”

This was the first press conference of the Ministry of Chinese Defense after the 7-10 May military struggle between India and Pakistan. Zhang said a press conference that the Chinese side is ready to continue a creative role in maintaining permanent ceasefire and regional peace and stability. The Chinese Defense Ministry holds a press conference once a month.
What happened between India and Pakistan?
The tension between India and Pakistan increased after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. After the death of 26 people in the Pahalgam attack, India had made accurate attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir (POK) on the intervening night of May six-seven. After this, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on 8, 9 and 10 May. The Indian side gave a strong reply to Pakistan. It was agreed to stop the military conflict after a talks between the Director General of the military operations of both sides on May 10. (Language)
