Kolkata gang rape case- Police takes accused to law college

The Kolkata Police on Friday recreated the crime scene in connection with the investigation of gang rape from Law College Student. The police reached South Calcutta Law College with the four accused arrested.

The three main accused Monojo Mishra, current students Pramit Mukherjee and Jab Ahmed and security guard Pinaki Banerjee were taken to the college at around 4.30 am. It took about four hours to complete this process.

After this, everyone was brought back to the police station. The case is currently being investigated by the Detective Department of Kolkata Police. Security guard Pinaki will be produced in court on Friday, as his police remand is till 4 July.

Here, on Friday, the officials of South Calcutta Law College reached the court demanding the reopening of the closed campus from June 29. The police told the college that the union room and guard room would remain closed.

The incident took place on 25 June at South Calcutta Law College in the town of West Bengal capital. 5 days later, on 30 June, Kolkata Police arrested three main accused in less than 12 hours.

College administration said- examinations are to be done, salary has to be paid

The college told the court that more than 200 students have to appear in the semester examinations soon and they need to fill the form for it. The salaries of the employees are also to be paid. College officials also requested to give instructions for proper vigilance inside the campus. Officers have received email from the police. Which has NOC of police. The administration will have to keep documents like attendance register of employees.

Order of Calcutta High Court- Students union office remains closed till election

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered the closure of student union offices in all the colleges and universities in Bengal. The bench of Justice Saumen Sen and Justice Smita Das Dey said that these rooms will remain closed till the students are held. The court said that such rooms cannot be used for any work. If needed, the university registrar will have to apply with valid reasons.
