Kuwait is taking such steps which will have a big impact on Indians!
Kuwait people
Kuwait focus on kuwaitization: There are many countries in the world that prefer their citizens first in every field. Kuwait’s name has also been added to the list of these countries. If it is said that Kuwait has also started on the path of UAE (UAS), then it will not be wrong. In fact, the United Arab Emirates now first pays attention to its citizens in every field, including jobs. Similarly, now Kuwait has started such an initiative. Kuwait’s Justice Minister, Counselor Nasir al-Sumait has said that the nyapal of the country will be completely ‘Kuwaitikaran’ by 2030. This means that by 2030, there will be Kuwaiti people in all judicial positions.
Why did the government of Kuwait take the initiative?
Now you must be wondering why the Kuwait government has started such an initiative? So the simple answer to this is that the government wants young talents to get opportunities in its country and they can come forward. Not only this, the aim of the government is that Kuwait can become self -sufficient in other areas including law and the arrangements can also be modernized.
What is the target of the government?
According to a report by People’s Matters, Minister Al-Sumait said that the process of vigilance of all judicial departments is going on. Under this process, qualified and skilled Kuwaiti professionals are being given a chance in place of foreigners. He has said, “We have taken a decision in this matter and by 2030, 100 percent is our target of Kuwaitikaran.”
Kuwaitikaran has already been done here
Meanwhile, let us also tell here that Kuwaitikaran is happening in many sectors of Kuwait long ago. Kuwait has placed its citizens in all major engineering and technical roles in the oil sector. Under the Manpower Contractors Kuwaitization Initiative, which started in 2002, Kuwaiti citizens are given proper salary, profit and stable employment in the oil sector. Not only this, by 2024, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries have allegedly achieved 100 per cent national staffing on top positions.
What will be the effect on Indians?
According to a report by Gulf News, till 31 December 2024, about 10 lakh 7 thousand Indian citizens were living in Kuwait, which is about 20 percent of the total population. Recent 2025 figures show that 70 percent of the total population of Kuwait is migrant, about 29 percent of which are Indians. The labor report of the first quarter of 2025 states that around 884,000 Indians are working in Kuwait. Given such a large Indian population in Kuwait, the biggest impact of Kuwaitikaran is going to happen on Indians or simply that India is going to happen. It is not going to be easy for Indians to get jobs in Kuwait.
The path is not easy for foreigners anymore
Recruitment of foreigners in areas like medical, engineering, law, education, accounts and finance in Kuwait has also made it very strict. Priority is being given to Kuwaiti people here too. Earlier, it was easy for foreigners to get jobs in these areas, now the situation is seen changing. The formality to be completed for the job has also been tightened.
