A painful accident occurred during the Home Guard recruitment on Thursday in Gajapati district of Odisha. During the physical test here, a young man died and the condition of 5 other youths is said to be critical. The accident occurred in a 2 -km race during the recruitment process.

The deceased youth has been identified as Sulant Mishhal, who was a resident of Parisal village of Gajapati district Ramgiri police station area. At the same time, the condition of 5 other candidates is said to be critical, whose treatment is still running Parlakehmundi district headquarters. On Thursday morning, physical test was started under the recruitment process. During this time, the candidates had to run 2 km from Ranipanth to Padmapur. The race was held in the Betaguda region.

Fall to the ground after finishing the race

According to the information, Sulant Mishal had completed the race, but a few minutes after finishing the race, he fell on the ground and fainted. Immediately he was rushed to the district hospital in Parlakemundi, but the doctors declared him dead. Not only Sulant, but 5 other candidates also felt physical discomfort after the race. Some of these are named P. Shankar and Arpana Pani. All were immediately admitted to the hospital, where their condition remains critical. As soon as the rest came to know about the case, there was chaos among other candidates and officials present. The recruitment process was immediately stopped. Family members were informed and the police have also started investigation.

Vacancy came out for 144 posts

Gajapati SP Jatin Panda said that advertisements were taken out for 144 posts 2 months ago, in which more than 4000 candidates had filed their names, in which more than 1200 candidates were later selected. Today a physical test was kept. According to the guideline, there was a 2 -km race, which the male candidates had to complete 10 minutes and female candidates in 12 minutes.

He said that the deceased Shinta example also took part in the race and completed it. Soon after completing the race, he complained of chest pain, after which he was admitted to the hospital. In the hospital, the doctor declared him dead after examining him. Apart from this, the health of five people also deteriorated, after which he was also admitted to the hospital. 1 candidate is currently discharged from the hospital and the rest of the treatment is still going on. “However, the exact cause of death has not been clear yet, but the scorching heat, water scarcity, and lack of physical preparation are considered to be a possible reason.
