Last date for insuring crops was announced, helpline numbs released for farmers
Uttar Pradesh The government has fixed deadline for insuring paddy, tide and sesame crops. The government has appealed to the farmers to get their crops insured by 31 July. The state government issued an official statement stating that the last date for insuring paddy, jowar, millet, maize, urad, moong, pigeonpea, peanuts, soybeans and sesame crops has been fixed July 31, 2025. The UP government has also issued a helpline number for any help related to insurance. Farmers can contact crop insurance helpline number 14447 for the insurance claim as well as help in registration, documents.
Farmers have to pay only 2 percent premium
Let us tell you that under the crop insurance scheme, farmers have to pay only 2 percent premium for the insurance of kharif crops, while the rest of the premium is paid by the Center and the state government. The Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme is being run to the farmers to compensate for the loss in the condition of adverse seasonal conditions, outbreaks of pests and diseases, drought, floods, storms, hailstorms, as well as failed sowing etc. Farmers have to give information about Aadhaar card, Khatauni, Bank Passbook and related crops as necessary documents for crop insurance.
Farmers have to give information about loss within 72 hours
Crop insurance can also be registered on the bank, shared service center or online portal itself. If the crop of any farmer is spoiled due to bad weather, insect, disease, drought, flood, storm, hail or unsuccessful sowing, then they have to give information through the nearest crop insurance center, agriculture department or crop insurance helpline number within 72 hours. If you have not yet insured your crops, then you have time till July 31. However, it is better to complete this important work as soon as possible than falling in the last date.
